Carl-Magnus Olofsson
55 år uppfödd på en Dalmatiner kennel. Stort och brett intresse för djur, natur och jakt. Har jagat med ståendefågelhund sedan 1996 då jag köpte min första Strävhåriga Vorsteh. Har sedan dess haft minst två Strävhår i hushållet. Intresset för jakt och hundar har medfört att jag är både exteriördomare för grupp sju, ståendefågelhundar och jaktprovsdomare för kontinentala ståendefågelhundarna. Jaktligt ägnar jag mig åt både klövvilt, fågel och genomför eftersök med mina hundar. Fågeljakten genomförs i skog på fjället och på fält. Andra raser som har gjort Strävhåren sällskap år Greyhound, Labrador, Foxterrier, Irländsk Setter och Jack Russel terrier. Andra intressen som tar upp min tid är hästar.
Gitte Finnich Pedersen, Danmark
In 1978 my husband John Finnich Pedersen and I bought our first Basset Hound. It soon became more and over few years we began to breed the Hounds under the kennel prefix Olympos. We cooperated closely with estimated breeders in Italy and especially the USA - Over time, we produced many champions shown in Denmark and abroad. Olympos was also the Breeder of the Year with our beautiful Basset Hounds.
At an Italian Kennel Club exhibition in 1990 we saw the breed Bracco Italiano. After some research, we bought a beautiful brood bitch/ she was Junior Worlds Winner that year. As far as I known, it was the first Bracco Italiano that came to Scandinavia. But more than one dog is needed and eventually these beautiful, trotting Italian hunting dogs - Bracco Italiano - came in majority at Kennel Olympos. Over a number of years Basset Hound was phased out, as it is difficult to optimize and work with more breeds in a hobby breeding with limited space and time to maximum 1-2 litters per year.
With our Bracchi we have succeeded twice to become : "Dog of the Year" in Danish Kennel Club with Multi CH / WW Olympos Felice Anno Nuovo and once again " Breeder of the Year" with this beloved Gun Dog - we have produced a large number of championships in several European countries, many BIS achievements and World / Europa Winner titles. Also in Italy 🇮🇹 !
I have held many lessons for colleagues of Bracco Italiano and Spinone at various Kennel Club and Specialty Clubs' judging programs, DHF in Denmark, SKK in Sweden, NHF i Norway and BI Club in England and of course in Italy, KC of San Marino - breed education of judges in Europe.
I'm Vice Chairman of our special club KJS in Denmark & Vice President for
Società Amatori Bracco Italiano International.
I became authorized FCI show judge in 1989 for all basset breeds. Over the years I became Group judge for FCI : gr 4, 6, 7, 8 & 10. - I'm also authorized for several breeds in group 1, 2, 5, 9.
I am very pleased that I had the privilege yo judge several days at WDS in Herning 2010.
I have had the pleasure to judge in most countries in Europe and in England .
My husband John and I have both been awarded DKK's high-grade gold pin in 1996 and in 2023 we received the “Broholmer plaque” - the Highest Breeder Award within Danish Kennel Club.
There is also a life outside the dog world. I own and founded the company FirstMind Consulting Communication & Coaching - a consultancy firm active in strategic business management. I have a background as Nordic Director of the Bayer Group, is a Master of Science in Communication, a journalist and internationally certified coach. My company works inter-Scandinavian.
My second life "lives" in Italy, where my husband and I bought about 25 years ago La Piana -a medieval country farmhouse in Tuscany where we live some month of the year - I love this farm and can see myself be old at the top of the mountain.
